Have you been asking yourself the questions:

What am I doing next?

Where am I heading?

How am I going to get there?

Perhaps there’s a feeling that where they're at right now doesn't feel quite right anymore, but you’re not totally sure on where to go from here.

Some of this uncertainty can cause us to overthink and spend a lot of time up in our heads. Ask me how I know!

Inside this episode I’m talking about how we can support ourselves when we are in this space of questioning or wondering, but haven’t yet found the answers.

I’m discussing:

a) how we can support ourselves when we are in this space

b) what we can be doing to invite in the answers and clarity we are seeking.

If you're waiting on an idea, or waiting for something to become clear for you, this episode is fo you.

Bottle Lake Forest 4-1:

Hello and welcome back to another episode here in the forest. If you didn't catch my last episode, it was my first episode. I've recorded since I've come back from maternity leave. And there was a bit of a story behind it in that I tried so many times to record it during my We Girl Eloise's nap and she woke all the time. And so I've just decided that I'm now gonna record these episodes while we're out walking together and walk in this beautiful forest near my house. And it's so peaceful and so grounding. And it's a perfect way for me to be able to communicate these, record them get them up while Eloise and I spend time together. And hopefully you feel the beautiful energy of these trees as well. So you'll probably hear me. Well, you can hear me walking. You might hear Aloise make a few noises. I'm slightly breathless with a six month old on my front. But the heart behind the episodes are the same. So in this week's episode I'm talking to you about calling in the clarity about what's next. So a lot of people will come into my space, my programs, who are looking for clarity about what's next. So, What am I doing next in my career? What's the next step for me to be taking? Where should I be heading next? Feeling kind of like where they're at right now doesn't feel quite right, but they're not sure on where to go from here and it can create quite a lot of stress for us. I think when we are feeling. That uncertainty or feeling unsure about what, what we were heading. So I wanna talk to you today about some ways in which we can support that process, support yourself through that process, and support the process to creating more of that.

So firstly, I'll talk to you about what I used to do and also a pattern that I just continue need to be, to be mindful of when the show's up. So what I used to do when I didn't feel clear about something, I would go up into my mind about it. So I would spend hours on the internet researching. I would survey a lot of people. I would think about it constantly. It was like something that I couldn't put down until I had. Full certainty, and it was like I was trying to artificially speed this process up of finding out what I needed to do, and that could be about what I needed to do next in my business, what I wanted to offer next. In the early stages of starting my business when I felt like something needed to change any of those situations, I'd kind of apply the same approach and it had this really mental energy to it. It meant that I was stuck up in my head so much thinking about. What I could do and then feeling really frustrated about the fact that the answers weren't coming and they weren't there. And so it creates a lot of stress and discomfort for us. I think when we are sitting in the space in between when we are waiting for clarity to show up. And there's a lot of things that we can actually be doing to support ourselves through that discomfort, to invite the clarity in, to bring in the answers that we are seeking. So the first thing is, if someone is coming into my space and they are kind of dancing with this, this piece of uncertainty, they're wanting some more clarity in their life, the first thing I would ask is two things. How much physical space do you have in your life? And how much emotional space do you have in your life? So first, firstly, the physical space. How full is your calendar? How how much downtime do you have? What does a typical day look like for you? Do you literally just get up, go straight into the busyness of your day, come home, crash, go to bed? Is there any intentional downtime? Is there any space where you can just Be time when you're not scrolling on your phone where you just allow yourself to be in your body. This is all about creating physical space for this clarity to drop in. Often we are just so busy doing that. We actually don't, there isn't any. Space for this clarity to show up. So I'd really invite you to think if this is you, if you are waiting on something to become clear, waiting on an idea, waiting on something to be clear to you, I'd look at the physical space that's present in your life. Because often we are saying we want clarity, but there's literally no physical space. And no emotional space, which we'll talk about in a second for it to show up. So think about the physical space in your life. How can I create intentional moments of downtime that invite me into my body? To open my intuition, to open my energy filled up to receive what's next. So as I mentioned, it's like building in downtime into your day. It's looking at the. Little moments there. Always we moments throughout our day, whether we are like sitting, waiting for an appointment or waiting to pick up our kids from somewhere. There are always these like little micro moments that are very easy for us to kind of like jump into our emails or jump on our phone or like mindlessly scroll in those moments, it's about putting the phone down. And using that as intentional time to just be, to focus on your breath to come into your body, cuz that is a way that you start to open your energy field up to receive clarity. To receive clarity via your intuition. So looking at really slowing down the pace of life and building an intentional. Moments and spaces of stillness in your busy day and in your busy week. So looking at that physical space and also like, I think it's about physically looking at your environment as well. Like does your environment. Physical environment feel clean and clear. Is there a lot of clutter around? Do you feel like you walk into your home or your bedroom and your nervous system rests or does it feel kind of like activating because there's like a lot of just stuff sitting around. Getting that kind of feeling spacious and soothing and calm on your nervous system will be, would be really supportive for this whole piece around physical space. So the second thing I would look at when it comes to calling in clarity about what's next is looking at the emotional space. In your life. So this is about do you have time and space in your day to be able to process emotional stresses, worries, fears, doubts, because there's one thing I know for sure when we are sitting in uncertainty, when we are. Waiting on an idea or some clarity or an answer about where we should be going and what we should be doing. It generates a stress response in the body. And when we are feeling stressed, we are up in our head. We are really mental, and the thing that's important to understand is clarity doesn't come from constantly thinking about something and being up in your mind. Clarity comes from being in your body. Being in your body is how you are connected to your intuition. The more grounded you are in in your body, the more easily you can hear your intuition and the more open your energy field is. So, it's so important that we learn to process and move through the discomfort, the emotions, the worries. That come up for us when we are sitting in this space in between so that we don't stay up in our head. We've got to process those thoughts, those fears, those worries, so that we can come back into the body and feel more grounded. Cuz when we are grounded, it's like we feel safe, we feel stable in our body. And as I said, it opens our energy field. It syncs us up more, more clearly to our intuition, and that's when we can hear and sense and experience that guidance, and that's how we invite in the clarity about what, about what's next. So I would really think about for you, if this is the space that you're in. Are you processing some of the thoughts, fears, worries, that are coming up for you about the future? About what's ahead? Because it's very normal and very human of us to. Be worried when we can't see, like the mind loves certainty. It always wants to know what's next. It wants to always have a plan, but the reality is life is very, is often not like that at all. Like we can often only just see a couple of steps in front of us. And that's okay. It's not a problem to be be feeling uncertain. It's not a problem to not have all of the answers, but it's so important that we learn how to support our bodies and our minds through that process. So I. Think about what you could be doing in this space. It could be journaling. Your thoughts. Could be using a technique like EFT or tapping. Could be using something like breath work. If you're interested, check out my short course, the four step process to release emotional stress. It's a short. Self-paced digital course that gives you a really quick, simple, easy process to use to process emotional stress, to process fears, worries, doubts, anything that's creating that emotional static for you. It lays out this four step process to clear it and release it really quickly from your body in mind. So that you can feel more stable, more calm, more peaceful, more grounded. So if you need some help with that, that course could be a really good option for you. I'll leave a link to that in the description. So those two things, physical space. Have I got physical space in my life to be able to invite clarity in? What does that look like for me? Do I have space in my day? Am I taking a proper lunch break in small moments where I'm sitting at appointments? Do I put my phone down and can I just focus on my breath and just be still? Emotional space. Am I processing the thoughts and feelings that are coming up for me about feeling uncertain about where I'm at? Am I mo moving and releasing? Am I moving that emotional static through my body so that I move from my mind to my body? I am existing more in my body. I'm feeling more grounded. Which opens my energy field up to be able to receive insight and guidance. And lastly, it's about knowing that that clarity that you seek about whatever it is, what job you wanna be taking, next step you need to take in your business where you wanna be heading with your life. Whatever question you're sitting with, whatever clarity you are waiting on, it's about trusting that that clarity is gonna come in and the timing that it's meant to. As I said earlier, sometimes we wanna artificially speed the process up by researching endlessly and asking people for all their advice. It will, it'll just only get us into a tangle and have us living more and more from our mind. Which makes it harder and harder for us to be able to open and receive the insight and clarity that we're seeking. So it's trusting that as you create the physical space in your life and as you create the emotional space, it's trusting that that insight and that clarity is going to come to you in the timing that it's meant to. There's a degree of discomfort that we have to befriend when it comes to clarity and perhaps only seeing a couple of steps ahead of ourselves. It's making it not a problem. That you don't see the full picture just yet. It's knowing that, that you are building out that picture that very often it's like we don't get the whole thing served to us at once. It comes in small little breadcrumbs. That's what I often, how I often explain it to clients is that the breadcrumbs kind of get like this little trail that gets left for us. And each time we pick up that breadcrumb and then move to the next one, the more we follow that path will then be led to the, the whole thing, the full picture. But we've gotta befriend the discomfort that comes from only having partial clarity and to not make it a problem and to really sit in deep trust, deep trust that it's going to come and that you are really safe and that It's really helpful to look at all of the times in which I, I can almost guarantee you, like, if you're sitting in this space right now, I can almost guarantee you it's not been the first time that this has happened to you. And so what I like to do is I like to reflect on and actually intentionally write down all of the times when I haven't been totally sure how something was gonna work out. And yet it did because then we start to see really physical evidence in our life that. It's safe for us to trust that we don't always have to know everything all at once, and it's safe to surrender some of our control around timing and that there really is something bigger than us supporting us with this process. We don't have to be the ones that are driving this, who don't have to be the ones in the driving seat all the time trying to make it happen, that there is a higher wisdom, that there is a higher power, whatever your understanding of that is. That it all, that has our best interests in mind, that wants to lead us to the clarity that wants to lead us to our purpose and our potential. So if we can sit in that trust, surrender our control, befriend the discomfort that comes from only having some of the, the clarity, some of the picture, that is so helpful in this process as well. So I would recommend keeping a bit of a record around times where you haven't been entirely sure or certain. About how something was going to work out or how you were going to get from A to B or how the, the pieces were gonna come together, yet they did. So go back through your life, actually write that down in your journal. Specific moments, events, situations, experiences. Cuz when we start to lay that out, Really clearly and specifically that part of our mind that likes to question and doubt. Kind of has a hard time continuing to tell you that story when you have real evidence to the contrary. So that's a practice that I really like to do, and I think that builds trust in our body, that it is safe to let go of control. We don't always have to know, and that we are actually so supported in this life, more supported than we could ever know. So that's it for me, from me and Eloise here in the forest. From this week's episode. I would love to hear your thoughts on this, so don't hesitate to send me an email. Jump over to my website, find me on Instagram. Let me know your thoughts.
